Resource Planning

What is it?

Resource planning is the practice of ensuring that the organisation has the right people to achieve the desired objectives. This is done by establishing the skills and competencies that are required and engaging/retaining/training people with the appropriate aptitude and attitudes. For this to be achieved the following areas need to be addressed:

  1. Job evaluation and job descriptions;
  2. Work force planning;
  3. Recruitment and selection;
  4. Induction and integration, including on-boarding;
  5. Attraction and retention;
  6. Succession planning.
